Barbara and Ale (until the beginning of 2014 known as Barbara Ceriani Basilico and Alessandro Mancassola) are an artists’ duo who live and work in Saronno (VA) – Italy.

They began working together in 2005 during their specialization in Visual Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera (Milan).
They work p
rimarily with photography and video.

Among others, they exhibited at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, Pac in Milan, Rauma Art Museum in Finland, Merz Foundation in Turin, Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation in Turin, Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation in Venice and at the National Art Gallery in Tirana.

Barbara Ceriani Basilico (Saronno-VA, 1979is specialized in Art TherapyWorking in the field of psychic disabilities, she led Art Therapy groups in hospitals in Milan and Como. She realized the project of a mural painting in collaboration with the inmates of Como prison.

She was a textile designer for Ratti Spa, and worked with, among others, Kenzo and MAX&Co.

Alessandro Mancassola (Arzignano-VI, 1979) teaches Digital Video at Brera Academy of Fine Arts (Milan) and at Carrara Academy of Fine Arts (Bergamo), Multimedia Design and Digital Video at SantaGiulia Academy of Fine Arts (Brescia).

In 2003 he took part of Venice Biennale with the group Omuse.

Barbara and Ale (fino all’inizio 2014 conosciuti come Barbara Ceriani Basilico e Alessandro Mancassola) sono un duo di artisti che vivono e lavorano a Saronno (VA).

Hanno iniziato a lavorare assieme nel 2005 durante il biennio di specializzazione in Arti Visive all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera (Milano).
Principalmente lavorano con la fotografia e il video.

Tra gli altri hanno esposto le loro opere al Centre Pompidou di Parigi, al Pac di Milano, al Rauma Art Museum in Finlandia, alla Fondazione Merz di Torino, per la Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo di Torino, alla Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa di Venezia e alla National Art Gallery a Tirana.

Barbara Ceriani Basilico (Saronno-VA, 1979) è specializzata in ArteterapiaLavora nel campo delle disabilità psichiche, ha condotto gruppi di arte-terapia negli ospedali di Milano e Como. Ha realizzato un progetto di pittura murale in collaborazione con i detenuti del carcere di Como.

È stata disegnatrice per la Ratti Spa, affiancando stilisti quali Kenzo e MAX&Co.
